Meet Our Team

Dr. Lisa Hindson

Dr. Lisa Hindson has been practicing small animal veterinary medicine in the Queensbury region since she graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada, in the year 2004. While working as a local veterinarian for the past decade her passion for the human-animal bond has allowed her to develop strong ties to many members of her community. Dr. Lisa’s decision to begin a mobile practice was largely based on a desire to interact with her clients and patients on a more in-depth level. She believes that being with her patients in the less stressful environment of their home, paying close attention to detail and taking just a little extra time will allow her to provide optimal care for each patient. It is her hope that every patient of Hometown MVP will feel that they are truly the Most Valuable Pets!!

Dr. Hindson holds a current New York State Veterinary license, a current DEA license, and is accredited with the USDA APHIS. She is also an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the New York State Veterinary Medical Association (NYSVMA), the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC) and the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP). While Dr. Lisa enjoys all aspects of her career, she is particularly interested in internal medicine, dermatology, and senior pet wellness.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Lisa shares her life with her husband and four very active, school aged boys. If they don’t keep her busy enough, the family also enjoys the company of two horses, two dogs and a cat. Dr Lisa loves spending time outdoors in any season and can often be seen out jogging on the local roads.

Lynne

Lynne has been working as a Licensed Veterinary Technician since she graduated from SUNY Canton in 2011 with a degree in Veterinary Technology.   She spent the first five years of her career working alongside Dr. Hindson at Adirondack Animal Hospital in Queensbury, NY.  While at Adirondack Animal Hospital Lynne honed her skills in all areas of veterinary nursing care and client relations.  She has tremendous work ethic and compassion.  Although extremely well rounded, she has a passion for assisting in the operating room, caring for senior patients and those with long term illnesses.

Lynne and Dr. Lisa have been a team since Hometown MVP first began.  Lynne is not only an outstanding technician or “animal nurse”, she also serves as a copilot, receptionist and plays a large role in practice management.

Lynne is an Adirondack native, who was raised in upstate NY and now lives here with her husband and their beautiful daughter, and the family dog.  When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors hiking, fishing and gardening.

Salena

Salena has worked in the veterinary field for 20+ years. She started her career locally as a kennel technician and a veterinary assistant, working alongside Dr. Hindson, here in the Queensbury area prior to moving to North Carolina in 1996. In North Carolina, Salena worked as a Veterinary Technician and developed strong skills in animal handling, laser therapy, assisting in chiropractic care, both surgical and non-surgical artificial insemination, dental procedures, daily nursing care and grooming. She has also spent 25+ years involved in small and large animal rescue, rehabilitation and placement.

Since returning to the Adirondack region, Salena has been alongside her sister at their family owned premier dog grooming salon as both a groomer and an accredited dog trainer.  She specializes in reward based dog training, dog/human communication barriers, problem solving and behavior modification.  Salena’s experience, optimism and passion for animals are a welcome addition to our Hometown team.

When Salena is not working she enjoys spending time in the great outdoors or working on her small family farm with her husband and their two daughters.

Linda

Throughout Linda’s life she has worked primarily as an office manager and bookkeeper in several different industries.  Entering the veterinary field was a whole new experience for her, one that she took on with enthusiasm.  She has been with Hometown since the very beginning, working tirelessly “behind the scenes” to provide us with much-needed billing & finance management.  Linda has a lifelong love of animals and possesses a natural relationship with them.  If the opportunity arises, she enjoys riding along with Dr. Hindson to assist on house calls.

When Linda is not at work, she enjoys being outdoors where she likes to hike and kayak.  She also cherishes spending time with her family & grandchildren and her two lovable shelties Maggie and Toby.

OUR MISSION

It is Hometown’s mission to provide each of our patients with quality, comprehensive, individualized care in the comfort of their home. We believe that the pillars of a veterinary relationship are TRUST and HONESTY, upon which a foundation of excellent care is built through attention, compassion, and expertise. With our focus on “quality” not “quantity,” we are dedicated to ensuring the health and welfare of each pet entrusted to our care. We understand that it is a privilege to be welcomed into someone’s home and family, and as such we will strive to create a lifelong relationship with our clients and their pets.
